This special tool is made with sharp teeth that help cut the knots and therefore help with its removal. The tool does not brush out the knots but it cuts through it and with doing so helping with its brushing out. 

Use on dogs that tend to matt regularly. Be careful when using this tool to not cut the skin of the dog.
